It is Easter time in Prague and during Easter you will find the most beautiful Easter markets in Prague. The Easter market on the old town square has even been voted the most beautiful Easter market in Europe and even the whole world several times. Easter in the Czech Republic is not so specifically celebrated as a religious holiday but more as the beginning of spring. On Maundy Thursday, which they call Green Thursday in the Czech Republic, they traditionally drink green beer. On Black Saturday, children walk through the streets and make a lot of noise with rattles to collect money or Easter eggs.
At the Easter markets you will find, among other things, trinkets, local food such as Czech sausages, Trdelnik (although officially not Czech but very popular in Prague), but also foreign specialties such as French crepes.
